Christmas and New Year's Break

We here in PLUMP want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We are taking a couple weeks off for the holidays, but plan on making January a very busy month. Our next show will be January 8 at Last Concert Cafe in Houston, TX (we will also be playing the afternoon of Friday Jan 7 live on KPFT 90.1 at 2:30 pm).

Also in January, PLUMP will visit Austin, Denton, New Orleans, Lubbock, Beaumont, and Bryan, so we will be very busy. Cool. Happy Holidays.

Recording last weekend

PLUMP had a very nice time last weekend at the Bungalow recording studio. We spent a lot of time laughing, joking, and eating summer sausage with cheese and crackers and drinking coffee. We also recorded a bit. We recorded 10 songs and about 4 long jams. Our good buddies Ian Varley and Jim Owsley were good enough to come and hang out and even play a little too which is always a lot of fun. Basically, 30 hours over 3 days in the studio = fun.

This weekend

There are no PLUMP gigs this weekend. That is because we will be heading back into the recording studio--and we are VERY EXCITED. We will be recording 9-10 songs--and once again we will be holed-up in the Bungalow Studios hanging out with our favorite engineer in the whole world Mark Shannon. So, we are ready to go and we are stoked. Cool.

Last weekend

All right, we played a couple really big shows this last weekend. There was a very big crowd at the Battle of the bands in College Station, and we rocked the house big time. We gave a way many cd's and stickers--however due to some home-town refereeing, the winner of the Battle was a punk band called Volume. Nice guys, but I think the fact that no one in PLUMP goes to to A&M (besides special guest Jim Owsley on keyboards) was the major reason we were not given the title, because PLUMP ROCKED COLLEGE STATION. I think our next show at Revolution is a gonna be killer.

Saturday we played at the Fabulous Engine Room in Houston Texas opening for Rebirth!! There were roughly 300 people in the house, and it was very nice. Jim Owsley once again joined us on keyboards for the whole show. Jason on sax had some prior commitments, so he was unable to come to College Station, and he missed the first half of Saturday night--but he scrambled on stage just in time for his sax solo on Last Concert--which was very nice.

We gave out a lot of free live cd's and got a lot of new people exposed to the world of PLUMP--which is always very nice.

Cool beans
